Redcliffe Primary school is highly regarded by the local community and prides itself on being culturally diverse. The school is nestled on a large block and is surrounded by trees, with well-maintained gardens of natives and plants indigenous to the area. The fenced off grounds consist of a grassed sports oval with cricket pitch, soccer and AFL goals, and multi-purpose sports courts. The school has two nature play spaces, which are challenging and safe play environments for children of all ages and abilities. The fully shaded oval play equipment provides students with an opportunity to engage in play, no matter what the weather.
Students can sit and enjoy their recess and lunch under the shaded eating area.
The school’s facilities include purpose built early childhood classrooms with open plan learning spaces that allow a variety of teaching methods to be delivered. All learning areas are airconditioned and fitted with interactive whiteboards. The school is well resourced with up-to-date technology and enjoys wireless coverage through all classrooms and learning areas, to facilitate the learning and teaching process. Students have access to a computer lab, iPads, notebooks, 3D printer, robotics and coding tools.
The school library provides students with a calm, literature-rich environment, that is well resourced with a large range of engaging fiction, non-fiction, and picture story books. All classes have a timetabled weekly library session and the library is open every lunch time for students to participate in reading activities, games and computers. A dedicated art room which is equipped with kiln, sinks, art tables and a broad range of equipment for creating visual art works is available for all classes.
The fully equipped undercover area, complete with stage is used for drama, physical education and school assemblies. This area also houses the school’s fully equipped canteen.
