Early Childhood Education

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

Redcliffe Primary School recognises that the early years are crucial in a child’s educational development, as it forms the foundation for future success. Our early childhood trained teachers are committed to providing a comprehensive and innovative program which focuses on developing the intellectual, social, physical and emotional development of each child.

Our early childhood program provides a balance of explicit, intentional teaching and hands-on, play based learning. We focus on building your child’s independence, self-esteem and confidence in a fun and stimulating environment, encouraging a positive attitude towards learning.

KINDERGARTEN TRANSITION PROGRAM

Redcliffe Primary School runs a Stay and Play transition program in Term Four for children who will be attending Kindergarten the following year. The Stay and Play program is held at the school in one of the Early Childhood classrooms and is planned and delivered by one of our qualified Early Childhood Teachers.

This program allows children and parents to experience aspects of Kindergarten and establish relationships within our school community in preparation for commencing school. In the program the children will have the opportunity to:

  • enhance their social skills and develop friendships
  • develop their fine and gross motor skills
  • develop their listening skills and their ability to follow instructions
  • become familiar with kindergarten routines and expectations
  • learn through play, and most importantly, have fun

The feedback from families involved in the Stay and Play program has been overwhelmingly positive and we feel this program ensures a smooth transition to our Kindergarten program at the start of the school year.
