This term is flying by as we head towards the faction carnival. The students are still striving hard and teams are being finalised and will be announced next Tuesday. Staying on the sporting theme, this week we will be holding the Wear Your Footy Colours Day. This is for a gold coin donation and goes to the Fight Cancer Foundation. The Foundation supports children and young people living with cancer so they may continue their education.

The Early Childhood students are visiting Perth Zoo next week and I’m sure they will have a fantastic time. The zoo is a great resource on our doorstep and it’s a wonderful opportunity for the students. Thanks to Mrs Field for organising this.

The Inter School Cross Country team did very well as always! Finishing a highly credible 4th overall and only just missing out on 3rd spot. Well done to all those who represented the school.

The Children’s Book Week Parade gave Miss James and myself our hardest job of the term, trying to pick winners from so many wonderful outfits. It was a pleasure to see so many parents supporting this event. The popularity of the Scholastic Book Fair was also very encouraging and great to see so many students taking home new books. Many thanks to Fund Friends, our Admin staff and Scholastics for organising the whole event and for providing the prizes.

A new event taking place this week is our cake bake stall. This is to raise funds for the Year 6 Adventure Week and has been set up by Mr Boyne. The cakes and baked items looked delicious though it’s interesting to see far more cakes sold at recess as the students can’t wait till lunch.
